As a pet parent, your pet’s immune system should be a top priority. . Just like in humans, a compromised immune system leaves the door open pathogens and illnesses that can negatively affect your pet’s quality of life. What’s the job description of a healthy immune system?
To avoid lifelong health problems, you must focus on a holistic and practical approach to promoting a healthy immune system in your pet. Start as soon as possible to ensure that you are taking preventative measures.Supplements Are Essential
The food you feed your pet is important, yes, but think of it like a baseline. Beyond feeding your pet nutritious food, supplements can provide the vitamins and minerals that provide the extra boost that ensures that your pet’s body cells are functioning at optimal capacity, increasing the chances of fighting disease.
Supplements like fish oil and mushrooms can be invaluable in improving your pet’s quality of life. Learn more about omega-3s and fish oil supplements, here. For now, let’s talk about mushrooms. Why Mushrooms?
Mushrooms are superfoods that promote a healthy body, including a healthy immune system, cardiovascular system, nervous system, blood pressure, blood sugar, liver function, and digestive system.
We’ve finally released Organic Mushrooms for Immune Support at Fera Pet Organics, and we’re so excited that your pets get to try it!
The active ingredients in our Organic Mushroom Proprietary Blend include:
Fera Pet Organics uses real mushrooms, organically cultivated and naturally grown, free from heavy metals and agricultural chemicals, certified organic and Kosher. Our mushroom blend is superior to any other mushroom supplement for dogs and cats and certified to be the highest quality available in the world. We only use organic mushrooms (fruiting bodies) with high levels of beta-d-glucans. There is no mycelium, grain, or starch.
Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies, more genetically complex and functionally superior to mycelium. When you’re shopping for a supplement, make sure your product reveals its actual composition. Just because the product literature screams ‘mushroom’, it doesn’t mean that it contains the appropriate quantity of the fruiting body. The vital parts of the mushroom contain important compounds which in no way is comparable to mycelium. The majority of mycelium products are grown on grains like rice, oats or sorghum, making it impossible to separate the grains from the mycelium. This means there’s high amounts of starch. The grain acts as a filler and dilutes the product since it does not contain any active compounds. How do you know if your mushroom supplement is effective?
The majority of medicinal mushrooms are known for their active polysaccharides called beta-D-glucans. Many mushroom products claim to have high polysaccharides, but there are many different types of polysaccharides and don’t measure mushroom quality accurately. Polysaccharides are carbohydrates made up of a long simple sugar, such as cellulose, glucose, and fructose. You’re looking for Beta-D-glucan, the most common polysaccharide found in the cell walls of mushrooms, which stimulates an increased immune response to more effectively fight off infections while also regulating an overactive immune response. Their benefits play an important role in:
1) Immune regulation
2) Gut health
3) Fighting infections
4) Blood sugar and cholesterol regulation
5) Innate immunity
6) Adaptive immunity
Our Mushroom Blend for Dogs and Cats is vegan, with no dairy, soy, artificial colors, dyes, or harmful preservatives. Our USDA Organic Certified Mushroom Blend only uses organic fruiting bodies with the highest levels of beta-d-glucans, making it a leader amongst all mushroom supplements on the market.
Did you know that most mushrooms come from Asia, primarily China? In fact, China produces about 85% of the world’s mushrooms.] Mushrooms utilized for medicinal purposes are rarely from North America. We have selected cultivation areas in China that are deep in the mountains and far from industrial pollution. We stand by our Chinese partners 100%.
Quality control is our top priority. Before exporting the mushrooms from China, they undergo rigorous testing for microbials (bacteria, yeast and mold, E.coli, and coliforms), heavy metals, pesticides, and a final organoleptic evaluation. Once the mushrooms have arrived in the US, testing is repeated by qualified 3rd party labs for microbials, heavy metals, pesticides that exceed US standards, beta glucan testing to ensure presence of active compounds, ergosterol testing to ensure fungal purity, alpha glucan testing to guard against carriers, Reishi extracts analyzed for triterpenodids, cordyceps analyzed for cordycepin, and a final organoleptic evaluation.
Take control of your pets future and give the organic mushrooms to boost their immune system and live happier and healthier!
